The role of the Media in Conflict Prevention and Peace Building as been successfully highlighted by the European Center for Conflict Prevention throughout the Media and Peacebuilding Programme, which mainly contributed to the publication of a book, The Power of the Media.

The purpose of the book is to disseminate research and highlight case studies on the role that the media can play in war situations and to provide guidelines on the role that the media can play in order to achieve an effective and positive role in the resolution or prevention of conflicts.
